We now reached the southernmost city of the world – Ushuia – right around the corner (by Argentinian standards) from the notorious Kap Hoorn. When stepping out of the plane we were directly welcomed by a cold hard wind making it all worth the effort of carrying around our jackets and winter gear. The city is cute and reminds a lot of northern-Scandinavian cities such as Reykjavik or Narvik because of the mountains right behind the city and being by the ocean. In the afternoon we visited an old prison harboring four (!) different museums and Kata got incarcerated for complaining about the rough climate as a Swede 😀

Ushuia – gleich um die Ecke (für argentinische Verhältnisse) vom berüchtigten Kap Hoorn. Als wir aus dem Flugzeug stiegen, wurden wir direkt von einem kalten, heftigen Wind begrüßt, für den es sich lohnte, unsere Jacken und Winterausrüstung mitzunehmen. Die Stadt ist niedlich und erinnert an viele nordskandinavische Städte wie Reykjavik oder Narvik, weil die Berge direkt hinter der Stadt sind und sie direkt Meer liegt. Am Nachmittag besuchten wir ein altes Gefängnis mit vier (!) verschiedenen Museen und Kata wurde eingesperrt, weil sie sich als Schwedin über das raue Klima beschwerte 😀
