We finished off our stay in Cape Town with an almost obligatory visit to the Table Mountain. To get some movement in between all the food and car driving, we hiked up from the Kirstenbosch botanical garden up the Skeleton Gorge and the Smuts Trail to the plateau. A beautiful and nice shadowy way up through the forest, passing a sand beach on the way before it flattens out on the top where we could find beautiful flowers and a surprising amount of animals. Up on the mountain, we had a lovely view of Cape Town and the surroundings.<\/p>\n

Next stop went to Stellenbosch, a town in the gorgeous wine region about an hour from Cape Town. The stay started well with a free upgrade from our budget room to a suite – sweet! The following day we booked us in on a Vine Hopper, a hop-on-hop-off bus, taking us to four different wineries and a brandy distillery where we enjoyed some good tastings and delicious food in beautiful scenery (and of course we met another Swabish family on the trip…).<\/p>\n

Wir beendeten unseren Aufenthalt in Kapstadt mit einem fast obligatorischen Besuch des Tafelbergs. Um zwischen all dem Essen und dem Autofahren etwas Bewegung zu bekommen, wanderten wir vom Botanischen Garten Kirstenbosch die Skelettschlucht und den Smuts Trail hinauf zum Plateau. Ein sch\u00f6ner und sch\u00f6ner schattiger Weg durch den Wald, vorbei an einem Sandstrand auf dem Weg, bevor er sich auf dem Gipfel verflacht, wo wir sch\u00f6ne Blumen und eine \u00fcberraschende Anzahl von Tieren finden konnten. Oben auf dem Berg hatten wir einen sch\u00f6nen Blick auf Kapstadt und die Umgebung.<\/p>\n

N\u00e4chster Halt war Stellenbosch, eine Stadt in der wundersch\u00f6nen Weinregion, etwa eine Stunde von Kapstadt entfernt. Der Aufenthalt begann gut mit einem kostenlosen Upgrade von unserem Budgetzimmer zu einer Suite – super! Am n\u00e4chsten Tag buchten wir uns einen Vine Hopper, einem Hop-on-Hop-off-Bus, der uns zu vier verschiedenen Weing\u00fctern und einer Brandy-Destillerie brachte, wo wir einige gute Verkostungen und k\u00f6stliches Essen in wundersch\u00f6ner Landschaft genossen (und nat\u00fcrlich trafen wir auf der Reise eine andere schw\u00e4bische Familie….).<\/p>\n
