{"id":1131,"date":"2019-04-28T10:04:56","date_gmt":"2019-04-28T08:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zeus.bitvalve.org\/blogs\/headingsouth\/wp\/?p=1131"},"modified":"2019-04-28T10:04:56","modified_gmt":"2019-04-28T08:04:56","slug":"things-were-missing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/headingsouth.bitvalve.org\/?p=1131","title":{"rendered":"Things we&#8217;re missing&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While preparing for our flight home, leaving Antananarivo at 0.55 tonight with a stopover in Paris before arriving in Zurich at 14.10, we were thinking about all the things we miss and felt that this (semi-serious) list might be worth sharing (items in general not in any particular order).<\/p>\n<p>Both of us:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Family, friends &amp; colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Yoghurt &amp; cheese<\/li>\n<li>Being able to just cook a meal without having to go to a restaurant<\/li>\n<li>Having a permanent home<\/li>\n<li>Not having to pack\/unpack every other day<\/li>\n<li>Being able to drink tab water<\/li>\n<li>Warm water when you need it<\/li>\n<li>Electricity around the clock and at least two available power outlets<\/li>\n<li>Being able to sleep without a mosquito net cage<\/li>\n<li>Toilet seats that are properly attached<\/li>\n<li>A wardrobe with more than two t-shirts<\/li>\n<li>Feeling completely safe when walking on the street in the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tobi:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pretzels, of course<\/li>\n<li>Kn\u00f6del (both meanings of the word \ud83d\ude09)<\/li>\n<li>Dark and sour dough bread (Marcel, I hope you did your homework!)<\/li>\n<li>Game meat<\/li>\n<li>Wuurscht<\/li>\n<li>Good Internet connection<\/li>\n<li>Toilet paper that tears where it should! \ud83d\ude44<\/li>\n<li>A computer with an actual keyboard<\/li>\n<li>Cool air<\/li>\n<li>Proper mountains<\/li>\n<li>Not having to carry hundreds of bills of inflated money at all times<\/li>\n<li>Not having to use sunscreen and mosquito repellent every day<\/li>\n<li>Beachvolleyball<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kata:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quark &amp; muesli<\/li>\n<li>Blueberries &amp; strawberries<\/li>\n<li>Pasta &amp; pesto<\/li>\n<li>Sports routine<\/li>\n<li>Sweden&#8217;s westcoast<\/li>\n<li>Swiss nature<\/li>\n<li>Salad with more than three different vegetables<\/li>\n<li>Clean and fresh air in the city (they don&#8217;t bother with Feinstaub here, it&#8217;s just Grobstaub)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also did a city tour through Antananarivo before heading to the airport and visited many old and impressive colonial buildings. We stopped by the royal palace that burnt out in a fire in 1995 which couldn&#8217;t be stopped as the firefighters were stuck in traffic jam&#8230; \ud83d\ude44 #justmadagascarthings<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend wir uns auf unseren Heimflug vorbereiten und Antananarivo heute Abend um 0.55 Uhr mit Zwischenstopp in Paris und Ankunft in Z\u00fcrich um 14.10 Uhr verlassen, haben wir \u00fcber all die Dinge nachgedacht, die wir vermissen und waren der Meinung, dass diese (halbwegs ernstgemeinte) Liste es wert sein k\u00f6nnte, geteilt zu werden (im Allgemeinen nicht in einer bestimmten Reihenfolge).<\/p>\n<p>Beide:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Familie, Freunde und Kollegen<\/li>\n<li>Joghurt &amp; K\u00e4se<\/li>\n<li>In der Lage sein, einfach eine Mahlzeit zu kochen, ohne in ein Restaurant gehen zu m\u00fcssen.<\/li>\n<li>Ein dauerhaftes Zuhause haben<\/li>\n<li>Nicht jeden zweiten Tag ein- und auspacken zu m\u00fcssen.<\/li>\n<li>Leitungswasser trinken zu k\u00f6nnen.<\/li>\n<li>Warmes Wasser, wenn man es braucht<\/li>\n<li>Strom rund um die Uhr und mindestens zwei verf\u00fcgbare Steckdosen<\/li>\n<li>Ohne Moskitonetz-K\u00e4fig schlafen k\u00f6nnen.<\/li>\n<li>Toilettensitze, die ordnungsgem\u00e4\u00df befestigt sind<\/li>\n<li>Ein Kleiderschrank mit mehr als zwei T-Shirts<\/li>\n<li>Sich absolut sicher zu f\u00fchlen, wenn man nachts auf der Stra\u00dfe geht.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tobi:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brezeln, nat\u00fcrlich.<\/li>\n<li>Kn\u00f6del (beide Bedeutungen des Wortes \ud83d\ude09)<\/li>\n<li>Dunkles und Sauerteigbrot (Marcel, ich hoffe, du hast deine Hausaufgaben gemacht!)<\/li>\n<li>Rehfleisch<\/li>\n<li>Wuurscht<\/li>\n<li>Gute Internetverbindung<\/li>\n<li>Toilettenpapier, das dort rei\u00dft, wo es soll! \ud83d\ude44<\/li>\n<li>Ein Computer mit Tastatur<\/li>\n<li>K\u00fchle Luft<\/li>\n<li>Richtige Berge<\/li>\n<li>Nicht immer Hunderte von Geldscheinen mit sich f\u00fchren zu m\u00fcssen.<\/li>\n<li>Nicht jeden Tag Sonnencreme und M\u00fcckenschutzmittel verwenden zu m\u00fcssen.<\/li>\n<li>Beachvolleyball<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kata:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quark &amp; M\u00fcsli<\/li>\n<li>Heidelbeeren &amp; Erdbeeren<\/li>\n<li>Nudeln &amp; Pesto<\/li>\n<li>Sportliche Routine<\/li>\n<li>Schwedische Westk\u00fcste<\/li>\n<li>Schweizer Natur<\/li>\n<li>Salat mit mehr als drei verschiedenen Gem\u00fcsesorten<\/li>\n<li>Saubere und frische Luft in der Stadt (hier gibt es keinen Feinstaub, nur Grobstaub).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bevor wir zum Flughafen fuhren, machten wir noch eine Stadttour durch Antananarivo und besichtigten viele alte und beeindruckende Kolonialgeb\u00e4ude.
